onShore began in 1991 as a freelance adjunct to Stel Valavanis´ job as Network Analyst at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. With Stel´s technical expertise backing the growing team, onShore´s suite of services expanded significantly over the next few years. As our reputation as systems integrators grew, onShore also developed a number of opportunities to incubate a fledgling application, database and Web development team that has since been rolled out into a separate entity.
In 1997, onShore purchased and renovated a hundred year old building strategically located at 1407 W. Chicago Avenue to better provide the 2-hour emergency response our clients have come to expect. From this location, close to downtown and with proximity to the Kennedy and Eisenhower, onShore consultants can reach most clients very quickly. In addition, we have a permanent, comfortable space for our remote management, monitoring and administrative teams to work in and for our clients to visit.
Since 2000, onShore´s focus has been on fine-tuning our suite of on-site and remote services, which are packaged under the umbrella of completeIT® services. These services include onShore onLine Internet and Intranet connectivity, 24/7/365 onShore onSite and remote support, onShore onGuard management and monitoring in addition to onShore onDemand client project work.
Our newest completeIT® offering, the Multi-tenant Data Network (MDN), is a distributed Ethernet network that opens the door for multi-unit buildings all over Chicago to offer secure, high-speed Internet service and intra-building services such as firewall security and automated back-ups. No other Internet or managed network service offers the business-class service and security of smartRiser, and onShore is proud to be the first to offer this creative solution.
